Questions about Wane can be sent to feedback@wane-tracker.app. In Wane, pressing and holding Version in Settings, under About, and tapping Copy copies the app and iPhone details to paste into a message.
Moving to a new iPhone
Wane keeps the log in iCloud, under the Apple Account the phone uses. Installing Wane on a new iPhone signed in to the same account brings the same log to it, though a long log can take a little while to arrive. Without iCloud, the log moves with the rest of the phone's data when the new iPhone is set up from the old one or restored from a backup.
Entries not showing on another phone
Both phones need to be signed in to the same Apple Account, with iCloud available to Wane, and connected to the internet. Opening Wane helps it catch up.
Sharing the log with another person
A log can be shared with someone else, for example someone in the same household, so cigarettes are logged from both phones into one log.
- To share: in Settings, under Sharing, tap Other phone, or use the sharing button on Today. Then tap Share log and send the invitation to a specific person. A copied link doesn't open for anyone.
- To accept: open the invitation on the other iPhone. Nothing can have been logged in Wane on that phone yet, and a phone can be in only one shared log at a time.
- On the invited phone: entries logged there appear on both phones, and today's entries can be changed or deleted. The reduction plan, targets and costs aren't shown, and Trends appears only if Show Trends is on. Neither phone is notified when the other logs.
- To stop: on the phone that shared the log, open the sharing screen, tap Manage sharing and use Apple's controls. On the invited phone, go to Settings → Sharing and tap Stop sharing. The log stays on the phone that shared it, and the invited phone starts a new, empty log.
- An entry logged on the invited phone while offline, and not yet synced when sharing ends, is lost.
Changing or deleting an entry
Tap an entry to change its time or delete it, or swipe left on it and tap Delete. Changes reach every phone that shows the log.
Removing all data
Entries are deleted one at a time in Wane. Deleting the app removes it from the phone, but not the log kept in iCloud: installing it again on a phone signed in to the same account brings the log back. To remove Wane's data from iCloud as well, open the iPhone's iCloud storage settings, choose Wane and delete its data. The developer has no copy of any log, so there is nothing to delete on the developer's side.
